Re-Signing Zlatan Is A Perfect Move By Manchester United

Zlatan Ibrahimovic used the above picture to announce that he had re-signed with Manchester United and will be there for the rest of this season.

I think it’s a great deal for both parties.

In his statement to the club’s website, Zlatan stated:

“I am back to finish what I started.”

That is Zlatan and Man United putting the Premier League on notice that they want to take back the Premier League crown.

Last season the Swedish superstar proved that even in his mid-thirties he had enough about him to succeed in England’s top flight.

The striker’s mental strength, his physical power and his skill meant he could still boss opponents.

In all competitions he managed to score twenty-eight goals in forty-six appearances, which saw him topping United’s scoring charts.

If one veteran can overcome a serious knee injury and prove to be a hit again on the field then I’d bet my money on it being Ibrahimovic. It’s as if he finds even greater levels of confidence when fighting against adversity and having targets to accomplish.

The player, like his boss Jose Mourinho, is a born winner. Not winning the league last term will only spur him on to do it this time around. He’s won the championship in leagues all over Europe and will be desperate to add the English one onto his list.

The younger players in the squad will benefit from his experience, confidence and his ability to turn games around. Even £75m man Romelu Lukaku will learn from training and playing alongside Zlatan. He’s the kind of man who leads by example and gets more out of those playing around him.

Bringing Ibrahimovic back gives Mourinho another option up-top and a different focal point to the team. His brains and his presence will have teams fearing him, even if he’s just coming off the bench!

Ibra will clearly not be fully fit for awhile yet, but in the second half of the season when the team needs a pick me up and the games are coming thick and fast that’s when a fit Zlatan will make his impact. During those nervy moments in a title run-in, if the Red Devils are in the mix then his experience will come to the fore.

The new Manchester Utd number ten will come back with a desire to show the footballing world that he’s still capable of shining on the big stage and able to make a massive impact. When the time is right I fully expect Jose to unleash Zlatan onto the Old Trafford pitch, watch him dominate opponents once again and add vital goals to the club’s cause.

That should give the whole club added confidence and a belief that they can go on and challenge for the biggest titles this year.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic really could be the difference maker for Man United during this campaign!
