Krzysztof Piątek Could Become AC Milan’s New Shevchenko!
Krzysztof Piątek arrived in Serie A last summer as an unknown.
Yes he had scored goals in his two seasons with KS Cracovia in his homeland, scoring thirty-two goals in sixty-three Ekstraklasa games.
But could he really do it with the step up to the top tier of Italian football?
The Polish international had a simple but pretty emphatic answer… Yes!
In half a season with Genoa, Piątek played in twenty-one games and had a sensational goal return of nineteen goals.
The twenty-three old is a strong number nine, being able to bully defenders has benefited him during his debut season in Serie A.
Piątek clearly has a keen eye for goal, he takes his chances early and he’s very accurate with his shooting. As well as being accomplished in the air, Krzysztof can also finish with either foot and is pretty decent from the penalty spot too.
The young forward soon caught the attention of Europe’s top clubs.
It was fellow Italian side AC Milan that managed to do a deal with Genoa and bring the Pole to the San Siro.
According to The Guardian, it took a €35m to prize Piątek away from The Rossoblù.
Already it looks like money well spent.
Krzysztof Piątek has hit the ground running in Italy’s fashion capital. The marksman has banged in six goals in his opening five games with the Rossoneri.
He now has seventeen Serie A strikes and only Juventus‘ world-class forward Cristiano Ronaldo has scored more this term.
The Polish international isn’t scared of reputations; he’s managed to find the net against top sides like Napoli, AS Roma and Lazio.
The similarities between the new hero and former Milan star Andriy Shevchenko are quite clear. Both enjoyed instant impacts, were/are prolific in front of goal and were/are able to handle themselves in the heat of battle.
Current AC Milan boss Rino Gattuso, who played alongside Shevchenko, has stated his happiness in having Krzysztof at his club (Source – Goal.com):
“In seven to eight months [in Serie A] everyone has become accustomed to these goals,”
“Piatek is a player that lives to score goals. He is doing well with his movements and he has superior technical skills.”
“We are happy to have him with us.”
AC Milan have been waiting a while for a new goalscoring hero to help them as they fight to get back into the Champions League and hopefully challenge for the Scudetto once again.
They may have just found their answer in Krzysztof Piątek. If the Polish hitman can continue to improve and remain prolific, then he might be the one that fires AC Milan back to glory!

i wish to express my great desire as a big milan fan that finally we found a goal puncher “PIATEK” the gun slinger. Furthermore, Rino should allow the goal hunger to play more extra minutes before the usual 69 min sub for Crotone. Thank you.
