Man United Should Sell Paul Pogba To Real Madrid (If He Wants To Leave)
New Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer didn’t have much time to settle into his permanent office without a bugbear of Jose Mourinho’s era to rear it’s ugly head again.
During the international break, French World Cup winner and Man United midfielder Paul Pogba stated the following (Source – BBC Sport):
“Real Madrid is one of the biggest clubs in the world. I’ve always said it is a dream club for every player.”
You can understand why such talk may frustrate the United hierarchy and their new boss. A lot has been done to placate their record signing, none more so than the sacking of Mourinho.
Yet even after Solskjaer coming in and getting the best out of Pogba, the French maverick is still seemingly eyeing up a move away from Old Trafford.
Things weren’t helped when Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane came out and suggested Pogba was on the La Liga giants wish-list (Via Sky Sports):
“I like Pogba a lot, it’s nothing new.”
“I know him personally. He’s a different kind of player, he brings so much and there are few players who bring as much as he does.”
In my opinion, Man Utd need to take charge of the situation. Ole has to sit down with Pogba and ask the player what he really wants. If in turn the midfielder states his desire to leave, then United need to set a price and offer him to Madrid.
I’d plump for a £150m fee.
Ironically Paul’s superb form under Solskjaer has actually proven his world class ability and pushed his price up. It also gives United a trump card when doing any deal.
I love Paul Pogba, when he’s on form he can be unplayable. His stats in the Premier League this season have been tremendous. He has grabbed eleven goals and created nine assists thus far this term. The middle-man is also averaging 3.1 shots at goal per game, has an 83.4% passing success rate and makes around 1.4 tackles per game (According to Whoscored).
That shows you that Pogba can be a difference maker but at times this season he’s been a liability and he can also prove to be a bit of a distraction. His passing can be erratic and he still sometimes showboats at the wrong times.
United showed in their terrific away win in the Champions League against PSG, that they can get important results with Paul being on the field.
Legendary Manchester United boss and Ole’s mentor Sir Alex Ferguson always knew when the time was right to sell a player, no matter their reputation, and he always knew that no player was bigger than The Red Devils.
If Paul Pogba’s heart isn’t beating for the Man United badge, then get a whopping fee for the player and sell him on. He isn’t the type of player that can’t be replaced, United should be drawing up replacements as we speak.
Put the ball into Pogba’s court and get him to request a transfer, then tell Real Madrid what it will take to get him to the Bernabeu. Get in a big sum and spend it on top players that want to play at Old Trafford. Plus use some of that cash to give David de Gea the wage packet the Spaniard wants.
It might seem like a throwback attitude but tradition always seems to work at Man United.

Pogba is fantastic so is de gea but if they want real Madrid then get rid 250 million for them two rid of Sanchez and 4/5 others and take next season to build properly. Just like Giggs and Scholes. Not Ronaldo
Let’s him go no player that is bigger than the club
Let pogba go.. He is not mature enough…..
I agree. If he wants to leave, sell him for a large fee and get a more consistent midfielder like Veratti or perhaps Isco. De Jong is no longer available but Rakitic though a bit old can still do well for a couple of years.
Same with De Gea – if he wants to go, let him. Then get Oblak or Donarumma, but at least cash in while tghe going is good.
