Man United Should Open Bank Vaults & Chase Jack Grealish

Manchester United currently sit in the mid-table places of the Premier League.

At times they seem to rely too much on the creativity of Portuguese maestro Bruno Fernandes. If the attacking midfielder were to be shut out by any opponent then you suspect United could struggle to breakdown that team’s defence.

I say this knowing that Paul Pogba is still at Man United but the Frenchman has failed to shine so far this season and has yet to pick up a top flight goal or assist during this term.

There’s no doubting the World Cup winner’s ability but many have questioned his commitment. The player doesn’t help his case when he continually talks about a future away from Old Trafford while on international duty.

He was talking about a dream move to Real Madrid back in October:

“Of course, every footballer would love to play for Real Madrid and would dream about that. It’s a dream of mine, so why not one day?

He followed that up a month later by stating that the French squad felt more like a family than it did at United (Source

If you add a fair few injuries to the constant transfer talk and his poor form this season to the fact that his current deal runs out in 2022, then Man United might not find a better time to sell Paul Pogba than during one of the next two transfer windows.

If Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to add more committed and creative performances to his attacking midfield positions, then they should be looking at Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish.

Villa are just a point and place behind Man Utd this term, with club captain Grealish being a standout performer. His performance against champions Liverpool earlier in the season was sensational!

Jack has made nine starts out of the ten league games this season, creating five assists for his teammates (Only Harry Kane has created more). The midfielder has also scored five goals. That means that the Villains’ chief creator has been involved in half of his side’s Premier League goals thus far this term.

Grealish can influence things in a number ten position, slightly deeper as an eight and even out on the left flank.

According to stats site; the twenty-five year old has an over 80% passing success rate, takes around 3 shots per game, gets fouled 4.4 times per 90 minutes and makes nearly 3 key passes too.

His ball control is excellent and he enjoys taking it for a run and attack defences. That directness could really improve United at the moment.

Legendary ex Man United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was known to fill his successful sides with top British talent and by going after Grealish that’s exactly what Solskjaer would be doing too if he identifies the Villa captain as a top transfer target.

Jack Grealish has just broken into the England side and he’s already made his mark there. He could now be ready to pull the strings for a Champions League side and the time could be right for Manchester United to try and persuade Aston Villa to sell their star man!
